A bit of a funk

I have been in a bit of a funk lately.

While Ben was home this last time we were crazy busy! We had mothers day, started painting the outside of our house, went to Utah for a weekend, had kindergarten graduation and worked on getting our yard ready for summer. Since then the kids and I also went camping.

I have tons to blog about, tons of projects to finish up around the house, and tons of GETTING READY FOR VACATION to do and I have zero motivation to do any of it... ok to be honest I do have a little motivation to get ready for vacation.

So that being said - I apologize for the absence of posts.

Anyway I am hoping that tomorrow will grace me with some energy!

Stache of the Month Club

Remember how I said that Ben and the guys that he works with like to do "creative" things with their facial hair? Well this month might just take the cake. I would have to say that this is the most disturbing yet...

Mullet May

Luckily his hair was short enough that you can't really tell.
Apparently they ran out of things to do with their facial hair and moved on to the rest of their head.

And what mullet would be complete without steps... YIKES!

And did you notice that the top one goes into his eyebrow?

I love my husband and I always think that he is attractive but this is concerning!

I told him that since we are leaving for vacation the day after he gets home from work that he needed to go get his hair cut before he comes home from work. To which he replied...
"No way baby, this bad boy is going to North Carolina with us."
YIKES!!!
Then he asked me if I was embarrassed to have my family see him like this... Um not just my family but I am embarrassed to be seen with this mullet period!
I have been considering breaking out some leg warmers and 80's hair for the trip to just so that I can fit in.

Chloe

On Friday my sweet puppy, Chloe, went to sleep.
She was 13 and half years old.
She was my puppy and I loved her very much!
My heart hurts.

(I know some people don't understand hurting this much for an animal, so if you are one of those people don't tell me to get over it, you don't understand and should just keep your comments to yourself.)

Chloe was such a pretty girl! I will miss her very much!

Growing up my brother and I begged for a dog. My Mom always said that we had to wait until we bought a house because it is to hard to find rentals that will allow animals. So when we bought our house the summer before my Junior year of High School the begging really picked up the pace.
It still took a while
We got Chloe when she was 9 months old, it was the summer before my sophomore year in college.
She was the cutest little sheltie.
At first she was very nervous and timid.
She loved me! That might have something to do with the fact that I would let her out of her kennel at night and then put her back in before anyone would wake up in the morning.
I was heartbroken to have to leave her when I moved.

Just a pup!

Chloe was very well trained. She did all kinds of tricks including crawling on her belly and rolling over. Mom had taught her to walk like a champ, she never pulled - she walked right by your side. At every intersection she would sit down and wait for you to tell her that it was safe to go, sometimes she would even look back and forth as if she was really looking to see if any cars were coming.
Chloe loved cheese! She was from Wisconsin - of course she loved cheese! All you had to do was open the cheese drawer and she would come running.
She had the cutest little crooked nose.

She loved her Morgan (my other dog) and he loved her dearly. Mom says Morgie is a bit lost without her.
She loved to go see Grandma. Before my Grandma died my Mom and Chloe would go see her every Sunday. Mom would put Chloe down at the door to Grandma's assisted living home and say "Go find Grandma" and Chloe would trot down the hall right to Grandma's door. Mom would put Chloe in Grandma's lap and Grandma would hug her so tight Chloe's eyes would get big.
Summer 2011
In her old age Chloe has a hard time going on walks so my parents got her this wagon. Madie loved going for rides with Chloe. They would barely get back from going around the block and Madie was begging Grandpa to take them again. I am pretty sure that Chloe was in heaven too!

Our family is going to North Carolina in June. I knew Chloe was slowing down and I selfishly was hoping that she would make it long enough for me to snuggle her one more time.  Thursday morning Mom called me to tell me that they were taking her in Friday morning. We got on the computer and skyped so that I could say goodbye to my sweet puppy. I am relieved that she is not hurting anymore but I miss her.

I love you Clo Clo and you will forever be my pup!

Poor Baby

This little daredevil had a little accident yesterday that took her pretty little face from this...

 to this...
Madie fell off a swing in our backyard and landed right on her face.

I took this picture right after it happened, two hours later her nose was much more swollen and much more purple. I was afraid she had broken her nose so I took her to the doctor. The doctor said that they didn't think that it was broken but that it was way to swollen to know for sure.

Other than when the doctor had to look up her nose (which took me and a nurse to hold her down) she was such a trooper. She cried initially when it happened and the only other time that she complained at all is when she sneezed - she looked at me with those huge brown eyes, held her hand over her nose and said "Oh Mommy that hurt" - totally broke my heart.

I expected her to wake up this morning with two black eyes but much to my surprise the swelling had actually gone down a bit.

I did however cancel the appointment that I had to get the kids pictures taken tomorrow. We will just have to reschedule when the purple is gone. I also have to take her back to the doctor next week so they can see what it looks like after the swelling has gone down.

OCD

The other day Madie and I were playing jumping monkeys.
The point of the game is to catapult the monkeys and get them to land in the tree.
Madie doesn't like this - she needs to have all the monkeys hanging the same way.

Not only are they hanging the same way but she has to have them all facing the same way and grouped by color.

Can you say OCD?

Side note - isn't she beautiful? I know I am totally biased but I think that she is just so pretty! She is growing up so fast!

7 Months

This little lady is 7 months!
(Okay so she turned 7 months like a week and a half ago but obviously I am behind)

Sorry blogger seemed to think that this picture should be this way instead.
She has been making all kinds advancements lately.

These two are the best of friends.

She is sitting up.

She is up on all fours and is starting to rock back and forth.

She is scooting all over the place. No she is not falling in this picture. She does this pose when I get the camera out, she gets in this position and then just kind of waits until I acknowledge her.

Today she got herself stuck under the table. She started grunting for me to come save her so naturally I got the camera and took a picture.

She did not care for my picture taking.
This picture was a little more frightening before I fixed the red eye - YIKES!

Abbi is a great little eater. She loves baby food. She usually eats a jar of veggies and half a jar or fruit for lunch. For dinner she eats a jar of veggies and a jar of fruit. After both she snacks on yogurt melts and puffs for a while. If I am not feeding her fast enough she will start grunting at me.

We are still nursing! I am so happy that it is going so well (with Madie we were about done with nursing at this point). She likes to scratch the back of my arm while she eats.

She has figured out that she can make a loud noise by slamming her sippy cup on her tray.

She is super interested in what her brother and sister are doing.

She loves to jabber.

She is finally sleeping through the night. She usually goes to bed around 8:30 and gets up around 4:30. It is great to finally get some sleep. I do have to get up a couple times a night to check on her or get her passy but that is more just because I am paranoid like that.

As I am rocking her to sleep at night she reaches up and rubs her hand on my face or grabs my bottom lip. After I lay her in hr bed she rubs her hand back and forth on her bumper pads (they are a bumpy minky material).

She smiles at everyone everywhere we go.

People are always asking me if she is always happy and she is! She rarely cries or even fusses.

I am totally obsessed with this little cutie!
We love my little Abbers!

Pet Peeve

Want to know what really annoys me?

When I finally get a chance to sit down and post some pictures and blogger decides that it is not going to let me.

So instead of getting to see some pictures of my cute little Abbi and hear all about what she is doing now that she is 7 months old you get to hear me complain.

I guess I will try again tomorrow.

Ugh, I am super annoyed!

Good Night!
